Let me quote to you what kedreeva said to me when she started bribing me to watch In The Flesh: “it’s everything that Teen Wolf stomps its feet and refuses to be out of spite and stupidity.”
ITF has a queer protagonist but the show isn’t about his sexuality - in fact, it’s never mentioned - and neither is the show about his romance. The romance just happens, right there amid the drama, but not in such a way that it’s off-putting. And when it happens, it doesn’t suddenly become the center of the show.
Everything we as fans have asked for in Teen Wolf - a supernatural show with prominent LGBT characters/romances without the show actually becoming about the romance, well-rounded characters who stay in character, and well-written plots - ITF has delivered.
The show doesn’t take itself seriously and neither does it try to be more dark, gritty, or complex than it actually is.
Kedreeva said it right; ITF is everything we hoped for in Teen Wolf but never got.
Well, I’m sold. Going to start watching it now.
